I bought this when I was young and have kept it on the shelf ever since.
It's a very substantial book, and I think it's a rare book that has a presence just by being on the shelf(^^)
I've only read it a couple of times since I bought it new, so the condition is almost like new.
However, the hard case has some discoloration, and the vinyl cover of the main body has small cracks here and there. (The main body should be clean if you remove the vinyl cover)
Considering that it's a first edition from 1996, the storage condition is good.

Please note that there is no Japanese index.
The entire book has entries arranged in the order of the Japanese alphabet, so you could say that an index is not necessary.
There is an English index at the end of the book.

It was 14,420 yen when it was released, and it is currently sold on Amazon for 15,400 yen.

The reader's cards were also included, so I will include them as well.

I will carefully pack this in a cardboard box and ship it(^^)

Human culture has symbolism across various fields such as literature, religion, mythology, art, folklore, astrology, and alchemy, which becomes a key to understanding cultural history.
It is a collection of symbols, describing symbols from all over the world, not only the European cultural sphere, but also the Orient such as India, Tibet, China, Korea, and Japan, as well as the minority ethnic groups of Siberia, the Americas such as the Maya, Aztec, and North American Indians, and Africa...
Over 1200 headwords are listed with English notation, which is not in the original book, in accordance with the original French language, and arranged in Japanese, English, and French order. The items are arranged in the order of the Japanese alphabet.
Many illustrations are used.
