In 1869, Thomas H. Handy purchased the Sazerac Coffeehouse and began to acquire and market brands of liquor. He bought out the rights to Peychaud’s Bitters in 1873. In the 1890s his company began to bottle and market the Sazerac cocktail, now made with rye whiskey instead of brandy. In addition, the company operated the Sazerac Bar on Royal Street. Later, Handy’s former secretary, C. J. O’Reilly, chartered the Sazerac Company. Ever since (except for a stint as a delicatessen and grocery vendor during Prohibition), the Sazerac Company has distilled an ever-increasing line of fine spirits. Today, we are still an independent, American family-owned company and proud owners of many of America’s most venerable distilling companies – Buffalo Trace Distillery, A. Smith Bowman, Glenmore Distillery, Barton, Fleischmann, Medley and Mr. Boston.

Nose: Spicy and sweet with caramel, creamy toffee eclairs, hints of cinnamon, rum spice and cereal sweetness.
Palate: Brown sugar, toffee apple, sweet oak, custard, oily espresso beans, a touch of chocolate covered raisins and toasty wood.
Finish: Good length with sweet spices, cinnamon gum and toffee.

A triple distilled blended Irish Whiskey, unusually, with all three styles of Irish whiskey: single pot still, single malt and grain. First produced in 1779, it wasn’t until 1913 that it changed it’s name to Paddy after legendary salesman Paddy Flaherty.
Nose: The nose is oily and fresh with floral notes, cereal grains and plenty of fruit.
Palate: The palate is sweet and of medium-body with toffee and cereals, a rosewater note with a little butterscotch and vanilla.
Finish: The finish is spicy and dry with a little black pepper and oak

Myers’s represents over a century of authentic Jamaican heritage, pride, and history. At Sazerac, they are proud to honour that tradition.
Using only pure Jamaican molasses, Myers’s Rum is made from continuous and pot still distillation and matured for up to four years in white oak barrels. The rum is then carefully blended with up to twelve different components making for a very distinctive colour, aroma, and flavourful taste.
