Owner & Commercial Director

Irish born and based, Barry Geoghegan began in the wine industry in 1989, later obtaining the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Diploma in 1995. In further studies, he was one of only 10 people in the world to study for the first ever Wine MBA at Bordeaux Business School in 2001, where he gained a first class honours degree.

He loves to share his learnings and experience, and over the last 15 years has taught many others on the WSET diploma course, as well as training many Duty Free and Travel Retail operator teams around the globe.

His interest in the industry began with his family, whose involvement in the industry for over 50 years has given him additional insight and knowledge, particularly in the Middle East and Asia.

Chief Operations Officer

Born in The Netherlands and based in Belgium, Nathalie Roelands finished her studies in  Public Relations and Communication Management in Antwerp in 2007 and straightaway started in the Duty Free and Travel Retail business, with now with over 13 years of experience in the channel.

Nathalie’s main focus is looking after all the Global Key Accounts including Dufry, Lagadère, Heinemann etc.

Brand & Marketing Manager

Born and raised in Dublin, Kerri brings with her over fourteen years of experience within the Wine & Spirits industry, including four of those working alongside Barry in the Irish market. She brings extensive marketing and client service expertise, having previously worked in full-service agencies where she managed and grew a portfolio of Irish and International brands.

Kerri completed the WSET Diploma in 2007 and more recently a Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Leadership from University College Dublin’s Innovation Academy, and her passion is in collaborating with brand owners where creativity and innovation are to the fore. She joins the Duty Free Global family to work alongside their fantastic brand partners and customers.


John Kilmartin is an internationally experienced Travel Retail Executive with close to 30 years’ experience in the Travel Retail channel. He has dual experience having worked both with both operator “Aer Rianta International” and Sales and Marketing with Patron Spirits International.

With ARI he held a number of Senior Leadership Executive roles in Commercial Operations, Business Development, Procurement and Supply Chain, in Locations as diverse as Russia / CIS and North America.

He left ARI to Spearhead and to lead the expansion of Patron Spirits International as Vice President Global Travel Retail the expansion and development. John led the GTR Division where he was at the forefront in setting Patron’s international expansions strategy and developing Patron Tequila into a truly global brand within GTR.

John lives in Switzerland and main focus is in Central and Eastern Europe/Russia CIS.


John Gallagher has worked with a broad range of iconic spirits brands throughout his career in both travel retail and domestic channels.

John recalls that his first duty free experience was designing a light box transparency for Teachers Scotch Whisky for Gatwick Airport, back in 1981. Gallagher also worked for United Distillers (Diageo) and Invergordon Distillers (taken over by Whyte & Mackay) before joining Larios SA in Spain to spearhead international expansion prior to the company joining the Pernod Ricard stable.

In 2008 Gallagher set up his own consultancy company and has worked on projects for a number of companies including, Hunter Laing, Danzka-Behn and Zamora International.

John lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina and his  main focus will be LATAM.


Michael Pasternak has been working in the duty free and travel retail industry for almost two decades and continues to work with respected industry publication Travel Markets Insider, where he serves as Executive Editor with a focus on wines and spirits.

He has been involved in the industry since he was a teenager and duty free is in his blood. His favourite stories to write have always been about wine and spirits and he has developed a passion for the category.

Michael lives in Florida and his main region will be North America.
